Bali & Lombok Multi-Centre Holiday
"The neighbouring islands of Bali and Lombok are like chalk and cheese, but each offers a wealth of beauty and culture."
Hindu Bali boasts a rich and ancient history, with plenty of striking temples dotted around the island. Lombok, on the other hand, is predominantly Muslim and homes many mosques.
Bali is Indonesia's most-visited destination, thanks to its abundance of beaches and luxury resorts. Lombok lies to the east, easily reached by boat, and is far less built up than its sister isle. Combing the two islands makes for a wonderfully enjoyable twin centre break. When visiting Bali, make sure to tear yourself away from those incredible beaches as a rich tapestry of spirituality weaves its way around the island. Lush green mountains cover much of the island's centre, interrupted by dazzling waterfalls and imposing volcanoes. Take a trip to the cultural town of Ubud, nestled amidst rice terraces, where many art galleries and museums await you. Travel east to Lombok, whose unspoiled landscape provides a perfect environment for trekking, walking and cycling. Take a trip up Mount Rinjani, which towers over 3000 metres above sea level.

Given Bali's proximity to the equator, the island's weather is reliably hot and sunny. There are two distinct seasons: the dry season lasts between May and September and the wet season runs from October to April. Even in the wet season it is likely to be sunny for a good part of the day, and the rainfall is never too high. The best time to visit Bali is between May and September, when temperatures are hot and the days are at their longest. Lombok's tropical climate gifts it beautiful weather all year round. There are two distinct seasons - the wet season and the dry season - although Lombok's wet season is far drier than Bali's. The dry season lasts from May to September and the wet season lasts from October to April. Most people opt to visit during the dry summer months, although the wet season is less humid. A great time to visit is during September, just at the turn of the seasons, when the weather is hot, sunny and fine.
