"Defined by its crowded, concrete-lined streets and eclectic markets, Kowloon’s high-rise hub of unadulterated commercialism is a wonderfully weird world that’s just waiting for bold explorers."

Although less sophisticated than Hong Kong Island and at times claustrophobic, quirky Kowloon offers up a raw, authentic Chinese experience in a fascinating setting.

Framed by the mountains it takes its name from, Kowloon makes up the northern coast of Victoria Harbour, and provides awe-inspiring views of the skyscrapers of Hong Kong Island. A popular place to enjoy the view is in one of the slick, sky-top bars of Tsim Sha Tsui, where champagne and cocktails flow freely. Whilst in the area, be sure to pay a visit to the notorious Chungking Mansions, a high-rise warren of activity that homes some of the cheapest guesthouses in Hong Kong, as well as some of the most delicious ethnic cuisine. Frenetic and fast-paced, Chungking is not for the faint of heart, but there really is nowhere in the world quite like it.
