"Uma by COMO immerses you in the culture of Bali whilst providing the height of luxury, all amongst the paddy fields and hills of this lush Indonesian island."

All 46 rooms and suites at this luxury Bali hotel exude the charm of a traditional Indonesian village. Except the feel is also quietly contemporary, from bedrooms to landscaped courtyards to infinity-edged plunge pools.

The hotel has a fresh, original spirit that feels sleek even as it recognises Uma Ubud's cultural context - a point made clear when you explore the wider region and its temples. With its luxuriant grounds and dramatic, bar-flanked pool, it is an ever poplar destination for an intimate, tropical wedding.

Accommodation

At Uma by COMO, Ubud, the 46 rooms and suites of our luxury Bali hotel exude the charm of  a traditional Indonesian village even as they cosset guests in sleek, light-filled spaces with all the conveniences and comforts of a modern resort. Entirely residential in feeling, Uma Ubud has the atmosphere of a rural hillside home. Narrow paths defined by tall, lushly planted walls lead between rooms and suites, each of which have their own tropical garden. Large windows and indigenous materials both inside and out bring the natural landscape in, from the amply sized bedrooms and black-and-white bathrooms to the landscaped courtyards and infinity-edged plunge pools.

Restaurants

At Uma by COMO, the focus is on modern, light cuisine that shows the utmost respectful for local nuances. Menus revive traditional Indonesian dishes while also offering contemporary interpretations of the cuisines of neighbouring countries. The menus rely on fresh produce harvested locally. This includes exceptional seafood and farm-fresh vegetables. In addition to Asian dishes, Uma offers classic international cuisine, and the pool bar serves sophisticated cocktails. The healthy COMO Shambhala Cuisine is for those who like lighter, nutritionally rich menus, while there is a special kids’ offering for younger palates. For quiet nights of total privacy, the resort offers in-room dining until 10pm.

Weather

Given Bali's proximity to the equator, the island's weather is reliably hot and sunny. There are two distinct seasons: the dry season lasts between May and September and the wet season runs from October to April. Even in the wet season it is likely to be sunny for a good part of the day, and the rainfall is never too high. The best time to visit Bali is between May and September, when temperatures are hot and the days are at their longest.
