Accommodation

Housed in a striking modern building of wood and expansive glass, 84 sleekly designed rooms and suites, some with river facing views, all boast a private balcony, where guests can relax on their oversized daybed and watch traditional fishing boats drift by.  Inside, sunlight streams through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating contemporary décor of stylish furnishings and neutral hues, accented by jewel toned Thai silks and distinctive local artefacts.  52 Deluxe Rooms are elegantly appointed with a sumptuous bedroom, luxurious amenities and a bathroom with both a deep terrazzo tub and rain shower.  While 32 Kasara Suites impress with over double the space and invite guests to share meals at the dining area, enjoy an indulgently large open plan bathroom and upgraded amenities such as Bose entertainment, an iPod dock and JURA Swiss brand coffee machine, in addition to a host of highly exclusive club privileges.

Restaurants

At Anantara Chiang Mai Resort & Spa, dining is a worldly and flawless affair at our 90 year old British consulate house turned restaurant and bar, which features a shady teak wood deck overlooking our courtyard garden and the sleepy Mae Ping River.  Leisurely waterfront breakfasts give way to innovative Asian and western lunches, then exquisite high tea and tapas journeys.  Classic cocktails in the colonial bar precede sumptuous dinners of sublime Thai, Indian and international dishes, leading into elegant nightcaps paired with a fine cigar.

Weather

Chiang Mai has a very hot climate, with temperatures close to and above 30°C almost all year round. There are three main seasons - from the end of October through to February it is the 'cool' season, but temperatures still remain above 20°C on average. This is the most preferable time to visit the city, as the heat will not be overwhelming when exploring the region. The temperature then peaks sharply from March to May, and days are long and sunny during this period. From June on to late October you should expect frequent rain and thunder showers, although temperatures remain high.
