"A secret sanctuary in the heart of historic Chiang Mai."

Tamarind Village is a unique and charming boutique property that nestles in the heart of historic Chiang Mai. Surrounded by ancient temples and quaint shopping streets, it takes its name from magnificent 200 years old tamarind tree that shelters the hotel in a shady embrace.

Set around a series of garden courtyards, the 42 guest rooms and 3 suites reflect the rich ethnic diversity of northern Thailand by using fabrics and patterns drawn from various tribes of the region. Intimate, serene and relaxing, Tamarind Village is an oasis of calm and tranquillity, the perfect base for exploring Chiang Mai and beyond.

Accommodation

Tamarind Village's 42 rooms and 3 suites are situated around a series of flower-filled courtyards, giving each room a sense of relaxed space. Decorated with simple yet elegant touches, the interiors draw on contemporary design for the runners, throw rugs and accessories and contrast the bold visual patterns of hill tribe fabrics against white bedding and polished concrete floors to striking effect. All rooms feature modern, fully equipped bathrooms and offer guests a sense of style and place that is in perfect keeping with the hotel’s location at the very heart of Chiang Mai’s old city.

Weather

Chiang Mai has a very hot climate, with temperatures close to and above 30°C almost all year round. There are three main seasons - from the end of October through to February it is the 'cool' season, but temperatures still remain above 20°C on average. This is the most preferable time to visit the city, as the heat will not be overwhelming when exploring the region. The temperature then peaks sharply from March to May, and days are long and sunny during this period. From June on to late October you should expect frequent rain and thunder showers, although temperatures remain high.
